The Circolo Cameristico Piemontese, sponsored by: Service Exploitation of the territory of the City of Chieri organizes the the International Music Contest for woodwind and brass instrument, performers in order to give support and encourage young talents. <BR>2.Young musicians worldwide can enter to the competition. <BR>3.The competition will be held from 24th to 30th October 2011, in Sala della Conceria (Via della Conceria 2, Chieri - Torino) <BR>4.The examining jury will be made up of personalities coming from the Italian and International music scene. (The exact list of the jury is now available <a href="concorsochieri.html">here</a>) <BR>5.At the beginning of each audition, candidates shall provide their identity cards and the examining jury <u>with three copies of the musical scores programmed</u>. All the compositions shall have to be performed in their original version. No transcriptions or modifications are allowed. As regards the wind instruments quintet both Haydn and Mozart transcriptions are allowed. <BR>6.The examining jury's decision is to be considered as definite, and awarding of candidates is given in more detail under the "Prizes" heading. <BR>7.People having any kind of family relationship with one or more of the candidates may not be part of the examining jury. The same applies to persons who, at present, are related through teaching to the solos or chamber music group formations. Once jury has been established, each of its members shall have to provide a declaration stating their personal situation with regard to candidates. <BR>8.The President and the Artistic Director, whenever they deem it necessary to do so, may take part in any of the jury's sessions and have the right to vote. <BR>9. The examining jury has the right to: <BR>" ask the candidate to perform the entire programme or only part of the compositions programmed; <BR>" hold an extra audition asking some of the candidates or musical groups to reappear, if judging and placement proves to be an impossible task. <BR>10.Whether performance of the candidates should be considered unsatisfactory, the jury has the right to not award the prizes. <BR>11.The candidates may participate to more than one of the sections, but not to more than one of the categories. Furthermore, they can enter a higher category than the one foreseen for their age but not a lower one. It is not compulsory (except for the duet) for all the members to interpret all of the compositions <BR>12.Candidates will be admitted to the auditions strictly in alphabetical order and per category. Latecomers who need to justify their delay will be heard at the end of the entire auditioning. Winners are expected to perform at the prize giving concert, free of charge. Non-participation to such concert would imply cancellation of the prize. Other candidates have the right to perform at such a concert, if the jury requests them to do so. The prize giving concert is foreseen for 29th and 30th october and will take place with the accompaniment of the Orchestra Chieri Sinfonietta. <BR>13.Results will be communicated at the end of the auditioning of the entire category. <BR>14.It is not necessary to perform compositions by heart. <BR>15.The candidates will have the chance to practice on the pianos available during hours established by the Organizing Committee. Times fixed will be informed in the summoning letters. <BR>16.If two or more members of a group belong to two different age categories, the last two figures relating to year of birth are added together and the number of members forming the group divides the sum. Candidates pertaining to the 20 year old categories will have to undergo two auditions: one preliminary and one final. The 21 to 30 year old category candidates (excluding the chamber music section) will have to undergo three auditions: one preliminary, one semi-final and one final. Only candidates considered as being suitable will qualify for the finals. <BR>17. Application for admission will have to be made out on plain paper as per copy of the form enclosed and sent to the: Reception office of the Circolo Cameristico Piemontese  P.O. BOX 181 10023 CHIERI (TO) (Italy) within and no later than 15 october 2011. Date postmarked on the letter will be the one taken into consideration. <BR>18.Application forms shall be accompanied by: <BR>A) Birth certificate; <BR>B) Application fees, non refundable, amounting to 60.00 ¬ for the Solos cat. B ¬ . 30,00 Cat.A, 35.00 ¬ for each of the members of the chamber music section (duet, trio) and 25.00 ¬ for the quartet upwards. <BR>19. Payment will have to be effected by a non-refundable postal money order made out to Concorso - Giovani Interpreti - Circolo Cameristico Piemontese P.O. BOX 181 10023 CHIERI (TO) (Italy) <BR>20. Travel expenses, board and lodging are at the candidates charge. <BR>21. On arrival in Chieri all candidates can obtain information on the exact time of auditioning from the Reception office. <BR>22. The Associazione Musicale Circolo Cameristico Piemontese will provide only the piano. <BR>23. Participation implies tacit acceptance of the present rules and regulations and of any modifications brought about by the Artistic and Organizing Committee. In case of radio and television recordings candidates have no right to claim any compensation. <BR>24. Any further information can be obtained from the Reception office of the Contest. (tel.
